The Black Bull blend was originally trademarked on October 24, 1933 by George Willshire & Co Ltd. The name subsequently was assigned to Duncan Taylor & Co Ltd after its takeover of the company in 2001.

This unique blend has been sold now for over 70 years predominantly in the United States and Great Britain.
